Tianjin Hualian Organic Clay Chemical Welfare Factory was established in the early 1980s. It is the earliest manufacturer of organic bentonite in China. The three-fish brand TF-46 series solvent-based organic bentonite passed the ministerial appraisal in 1982. Fenghong started research and production in 1990. In 1996, its annual production capacity reached 700 tons. In 1998, Zhejiang Fenghong Clay Chemical Co., Ltd. was established, producing 2,000 tons of organic bentonite annually. At present, the production capacity of organic bentonite of Zhejiang Fenghong Clay Chemical Co., Ltd. is 5,000 tons/year. 9 organic bentonite products. BP series organic bentonite thickening rheological agent adopts international advanced cleaning technology, which has the advantages of high gel efficiency, good viscosity repeatability and strong thickening ability. The performance has been tested by Shanghai Coating Pigment Quality Supervision and Inspection Station. All indicators have reached or exceeded the level of international similar products and can replace imports.

At present, there are 5 manufacturers with an organic bentonite production capacity of more than 1,000 tons/year, and the production capacity is 13,200 tons/year.

The general process of organic bentonite processing is: raw ore → crushing → dispersion → modification (sodiumification) → purification → ammonium salt coverage → rinsing → dehydration → drying → crushing → packaging.

Due to the large use of organic bentonite, there are many enterprises that are constructing or constructing installations. For example, there is Ningcheng Tianyu Chemical Company (2000 tons/year) under construction. The enterprises to be built and the government that attracts investment are Zigong Zhigao Economic and Trade Co., Ltd. (1000 tons of organic bentonite) and Linyi County of Hunan Province (annual output of 10,000). The company of Alimont visited the Tangshan Seaport Development Zone and plans to establish a joint venture with Tangshan Weige Chemical Co., Ltd. in the Seaport Development Zone. The project plans a total investment of 6 million US dollars, and its products will all be exported to the US and European markets. Laporte (the second producer of organic swelling in the world) intends to build a letter of intent for the production of 6,000 tons of nano-scale (easy-dispersible) organic bentonite production line in China, of which 3,000 tons are sold abroad.

2. Application status of organic bentonite in China

 Organic bentonite is mainly used in the fields of paint ink, oil drilling, polymer active filler, sewage treatment and so on. China's organic bentonite is used in large quantities and is imported every year, such as American Villes organic bentonite.

Paint Ink: Organic bentonite is an effective gelling agent for organic liquids. Adding a relatively small amount of organic bentonite to the liquid organic system will greatly affect its rheology, increase the viscosity, change the fluidity, and the system becomes thixotropic; in addition, the solid can be suspended in the liquid to control its penetration into the porous substrate. . Organic bentonite is used in paints, printing inks, lubricants, cosmetics and many other industrial sectors to control viscosity and flow, making production easier, storage stability and performance better. In the aspect of paint, it is used in synthetic resin such as epoxy resin, phenolphthalein resin and asphalt, and pigment paints such as Fe, Pb and Zn. It can be used as anti-sinking aid, and it can prevent pigment from sinking, corrosion and thickening. Layer; etc.; used as a solvent ink, can be used as an additive to adjust the viscosity and consistency of the ink, prevent ink from oozing, and improve thixotropy. The organic bentonite (also called modified bentonite) product developed by Jilin Chemical Industry Research Institute has been tested in the tire factories of Huadian, Jilin, Changchun and Jihua. Nano-grade organic bentonite is also used for nano-modification of plastics such as nylon, polyester, polyolefin (ethylene, propylene, styrene, vinyl chloride) and epoxy resin to improve its heat resistance, strength and wear resistance. And specific gravity.

Sewage treatment: The treatment steps of organic bentonite wastewater are:

1) rapidly mixing and mixing the dried and pulverized 20-100 mesh organic bentonite with the amount of organic wastewater to be treated in a ratio of 1:50 to 1:5000 for 10 to 30 minutes;

2) The reaction product stays in the sedimentation tank for 10 to 60 minutes, and the soil-water solid-liquid separation, the wastewater is discharged after reaching the standard. It is also possible to mix 40-200 mesh organic bentonite with organic wastewater, the solid-liquid mass ratio is 1:500-1:5000, and then flow into a microwave reactor, and apply microwave irradiation with 200-5000 W for 10 s. Decolorization and purification treatment is carried out for -30 min, and then solid-liquid two-phase separation is carried out, and the wastewater is purified and discharged. The use of microwave irradiation treatment, without stirring, can simplify the operation process and expand the application prospect of organic bentonite.
